I don't think I've been so excited about a single product. Ever! But when Steve Jobs announced the Apple TV on January 9th 2007, I was jumping for joy. Finally, a company understood what it was that I wanted to do with my media, for starters anyway.
So after a long delay in February, I finally receive an email from the Apple Store saying that my order has finally shipped. I was immediately thrilled, until I scrolled down and noticed the only thing being shipped was the HDMI cable I ordered with it. Damn it! Looks like I've gotta hurry up and wait some more.
In a follow up article, I'll discuss the entire process, in detail, on how to get professional results out of ripping a DVD and encoding it for use on the Apple TV. After over 100 test encodes, I've finally have the workflow and specifications down.
